Up and under: Alto saxophone and a blues bass. Saturday sits silent and apologetic. One makes do with
personifications on days like this when one finds oneself in want of company.
It is not as sentimental as it seems. All right, just a tad, but it is nothing
so jarring as to stop myself from accomplishing, say, chores. There’s laundry
to do. The sun is out. It is a lovely afternoon to go out walking. Most of the
people I know do not like walking under this heat, but I’ve noticed I have a
high tolerance for it. I can drink coffee that’s a little hotter than the
tolerable levels. To enjoy loveliness as this can be a lonely endeavor
sometimes.
